A funeral led by a Church of England minister can be held in church, at a crematorium or by a graveside. From the moment you are in touch with us, throughout the funeral service, and for as long as those who grieve need us afterwards, we’re there for them.
The message at all Church of England funerals, wherever they happen, is one of hope. Although there is sadness because someone has died, in every Church of England funeral there will also be a message of hope in life after death.
Wherever a grieving family live, wherever the funeral takes places, whatever their link to the person who has died, the Church of England is available for them afterwards.
Each person is unique – in personality and in life experience. A Church of England funeral allows those who grieve to give thanks for the unique person they knew and loved in a way that gives comfort and hope.
